This pour is a bit hot and bitey. Proof is high but I have drank higher proof whiskeys that are not this punchy. Not to turn anyone off from this and it may smooth out after a few weeks of being opened but that fresh crack pour was tough. Profile is nice though, especially considering this is roughly 4 year old juice. Nice baking spices, clove, cinnamon and some light orchard fruits on the nose and palate. If you have been primarily enjoying straight bourbons only but are wanting to try something a bit different but honestly still close in profile, give this wheat whiskey a shot. If you are not accustomed to high proof then maybe pick up the non cask strength, small batch. SB also carries it and i am sure it will be a nice pour.
